Zendaya and Labrinth release “I’m Fated” from “Euphoria”

Fresh off of last season’s explosive finale to “Euphoria,” Zendaya is teaming up with Labrinth to release “I’m Tired” from the hit HBO series.

Co-written by Labrinth and Zendaya, “I’m Tired” was originally performed in the emotional final scene of episode four which finds Rue standing in a church while Labrinth sings to her. The two reunited after the episode aired to create a collaborative version, which played during the end credits of the finale.

“Hey Lord, you know I’m fighting / Hey Lord, you know, I’ll find it,” Zendaya sings in their chilling duet. “I don’t know when or how today / Hey Lord, I’m on my way.”

Speaking to IndieWire, the Emmy-winning songwriter recalled the emotional experience of performing the song on set. “I knew what Rue was going through. Being in a church was spiritual,” Labrinth said. “Zendaya was crying. I was crying. We got Hunter [Schafer] and Dom[inic Fike] and everyone could feel that the mood was different.

Kid Cudi has expressed interest in recording a remix of “I’m Tired”. “Please god put me on a remix of this @Zendaya @Labrinth,” he tweeted, prompting Zendaya to respond, “Yoooo! What a dream that would be… @Labrinth?” ??”

On Friday, Dominic Fike’s “Elliot’s Song,” which was performed in the season two finale, will hit streaming services.
