Kane Brown grants his wish for Bryson, 5, who beat brain cancer
After recently beating an aggressive form of brain cancer, 5-year-old Bryson Schuh got the surprise of his life when he was told he would be attending a concert by his favorite country artist, Kane Brown. And the show wasn’t even the best part of his night.
In February 2021, Bryson was diagnosed with atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRT) and had to undergo salvage brain surgery. Fortunately, this month he received the exciting news that his MRI results show he is currently cancer free. Bryson’s mother, Janna, started a Facebook page last year to document her son’s journey through this difficult time. She posted many updates on this blog and other social media platforms which included a GoFundMe page and as a result has received the support of over 600 followers to date.
In an attempt to help fulfill her son’s wish, she posted a video of him saying, ‘I want to meet you’, adding the words ‘Kane Brown’s #1 fan kicked ass brain cancer and wants to meet him while he’s at his concert on January 27. Let’s make it happen for him. After sharing the clip, fans rallied behind Bryson to try and get Brown’s attention via social media by tagging him and his team and sharing Bryson’s story.

Following the excellent news about his health, Bryson’s wish to go to Brown’s concert has also been granted, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This week he attended the Blessed & Free Tour with his mom and dad at the MODA Center in Portland, OR.
When day finally came, Janna went live on social media several times, sharing the night’s performances and their exciting journey to see Brown. Bryson wore his Kane Brown ‘One Mississippi’ sweatshirt and KB-branded hat when he met the country hitmaker and his first act, Restless Road.
“Kane saw [Bryson] on Facebook but had no idea it was there,” Janna said. musical chaos. “I saw the guys from Restless Road get on their bus and explained who Bryson was and told him he was devastated that he couldn’t meet [Kane] so one of them pulled Kane out of his [tour] bus for me. I told them it’s my son who just beat the brain cancer dream and Kane came down and hung out with him for 10 minutes and took pictures and signed his sign which I made. He said he saw Bryson on Facebook and was going to contact me but forgot.
During their surprise meeting, Brown and Bryson had the chance to talk about their sneakers, the video games they play and they also exchanged a high-five. Brown even signed Bryson’s poster which read, “#1 Kane Brown fan kicked brain cancer ass!!”
“It was fate,” Brown said when he learned that Bryson had chosen this show for his Make-A-Wish.
Janna also said musical chaos that Bryson idolizes Brown and that his favorite Kane Brown songs are “One Mississippi”, “Blessed And Free” and “Like A Rodeo”. After the exciting night, Janna shared photos of the singer and her son from their time near the buses at the loading dock.
So far, via the linked GoFundMe page on Facebook, Janna raised $6,745 to reach her goal of $10,000.
