Adele has returned with her first single in six years and Drake couldn’t be more excited.
Following the release of “Easy on Me” on Thursday, the Toronto rapper took to Instagram to give the song his co-sign while sharing insight into his close relationship with the British singer.
“One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single @adele WOIIIIIIII,” he wrote on his Instagram Story with smiley face and heart emojis.
Adele has revealed she is playing her next album 30 for Drake to have his thoughts. “I played it for Drake maybe last year when he was in town,” she told ‘Capital Breakfast’. “I’m like, ‘Do you think this is like what people want or don’t want?’ And he was like, ‘Absolutely.’ “
Drake and Adele’s friendship is no secret. She showed up for her 33rd birthday party in Los Angeles in 2019. “Happy birthday to one of the nicest, funniest people I’ve met @champagnepapi,” she wrote at the time.
In 2015, Adele even expressed interest in doing a remix of Drake’s hit “Hotline Bling.” “I really want us to do an official remix,” she told etalk from Canada. “I love Drake so much. I even got the coat that’s in the video – I had it delivered the other day, I ordered it. The red one.”
Drake replied: “I would do anything with Adele. I would literally go to Adele’s right now and do the laundry for her.
While the two have yet to collaborate, Drake can be heard alongside Travis Scott on “Bubbly” from Young Thug’s new album. Punk.
