Consequence shares video and single “Blood Stain” f/’Beat of the Year’ by Ye

Consequence shared their new song “Blood Stain” on Friday.

As Cons previously teased, the song lays claim to what he considers the “beat of the year” from the artist formerly known as Kanye West. A clip of masked Ye listening to the beat was shared earlier this week to mark Yeezy’s 45th birthday.

Of the subsequently released music video, above, Consequence told HipHopDX, “My heart was able to bleed through the pen after facing life-threatening circumstances, which became the inspiration for ‘BLOOD STAIN.’ Directed by Zachary Wanerman, this visual is a metaphorical depiction of real events that will go down as a constant reminder that I will always carry with me. never share your soul with someone who would count you. No, something this precious should only be given to someone you can rely on.

Stream “Blood Stain” below via Spotify. By Cons, the track serves as the lead single from her upcoming new album It’s nice to do business with you.

Jadakiss shared his own reaction to the song, calling it “the hottest shit in the country.”

Contre and Ye, of course, have a deep and fruitful collaboration history together. Last year he contributed to the donda track “Hurricane,” which ultimately won Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

Earlier this month, Consequence issued a public apology to Drake after previously dissing him on 2021 track “Party Time.” Ye and Drake, as is well documented, also put their issues aside.

“Forgive me for anything said about you or your loved ones,” Consequence said last week, sharing a screenshot of a 2016 conversation between him and producer Noah “40” Shebib.

A release date for It’s nice to do business with you remains to be announced.
