Chris Rock’s Brother Slams Will Smith During Comedy Show
Chris Rock’s family defends him following the slap.
On his Friday comedy show, comedian Tony Rock slammed Will Smith after the King Richard star slapped his brother at the Oscars for doing a GI Jane 2 joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia.
“If you think you’re gonna get on that stage, it’s not the fucking Oscars!” Tony told the crowd during the “No Remorse Comedy Tour” in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tony threatened to retaliate if someone did the same to him. “And if you walk your ass around here, you’re not nominated for shit but those fucking hands!” he said. “Oh, we’re gonna skip the rest of the year, nigga. Every time you see me do a show, pop!”
He continued to blast Smith after Sunday’s onstage altercation at the Oscars. “Are you gonna hit my fucking bro because your female dog winked at you?” He asked.
Not only does he have his brother’s back, but also the rest of the Rock siblings. “Oh, that’s a lot of Rock brothers, you don’t know, that’s a lot of Rock brothers,” Tony added.
According to Page Six, Chris is the eldest of seven siblings, including brothers Andre, Tony, Brian, Kenny and Jordan, as well as sister Andi.
During his own stand-up show earlier in the week, Chris addressed the incident, albeit in a much softer way. “I am still processing what happened. So at some point I will talk about this shit. And it will be serious and funny,” he told the crowd at his first show since the Oscars in Boston. After a heckler shouted “F**k Will Smith”, he immediately shut them down.
On Friday, Will Smith resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, saying he will “fully accept all consequences” of his “shocking, painful and inexcusable” conduct.
