Have you ever pretended to be the leader of Erasure to get a better table in a restaurant? TeeDubyaBee

No, but Andy and I have a brilliant little friendship that grew on Twitter after people started tagging the wrong person. I was tweeting funny replies, like “I wish I had some respect…” A few years ago I reached out to him about something he unfortunately couldn’t do, but he said that ‘he would be up for something and we’re talking about working together. You read it first here.

In a 1997 interview with the Japanese magazine Crossbeat, we asked you what Ride means to you. You asked them to ask you 10 years later. Do you have the answer now? more water

Ride means a lot to me. When I started, I was the most myself that I have ever been apart from, and I love being in contact with this person. We trained right after we left school, it was a really exciting time and I’m so grateful that we’re allowed to continue doing that. Ride is the portal to who I am.

Rumor has it that the Creation Records HQ in Hackney was some kind of crazy mix of student studio/messy office/bar/disco/crack den. Have you wondered what you are indulging in? Timwthornton

When we signed they were in Bethnal Green, in what Alan [McGee, the founder] called the bunker, accessed via a kind of sweatshop where women with sewing machines made clothes. Otherwise, it was pretty much as described: students, messy, walls covered in record covers, and musicians hanging around. One of the first times I went there was a party and someone from Primal Scream called to say that [producer] Andrew Weatherall wanted them to play on a click track, and they asked, “What is a click track?” It must have worked because the results were Loaded and Screamadelica. We had signed after six shows so I was like a kid, watching this show. Magical moments.

Did you find the term shoegaze offensive? stoneinatincan

I didn’t like it at the time because that was how it was used in the music press with other bratty terms. It must have been the same to be German, in a group labeled Krautrock. A few years later, I was touring the United States with Oasis and people would come and say, “I love Shoegaze”. So I learned to accept it. It’s just a label now.

What was the first moment you pinched yourselfe play live with Oasis? JesseAndrews

Waiting to go on stage at Wembley. You hear the excitement of people waiting to hear from you, which is awesome.

I always thought a guitarist and songwriter of your talent was wasted playing bass in Oasis. Has it ever seemed like this to you? BurnTheBlueDragon

It’s rude to bassists. No way. I learned so much about music as a guitarist playing bass. The bassist and the drummer are the backbone. I took it very seriously. Also, it was nice to be asked to participate in songwriting. My song Turn Up the Sun was the opening number for a whole tour. He even broke a barrier in Manchester City’s stadium as the crowd rushed forward. Luckily, I don’t think anyone was seriously injured.

The resurgence of the double album was an unexpected development in 2022, with standout releases from yourself, beach house, big thief, Johnny Marr and Wilco. Are you a fan of the format and what is the story behind your double album, Sway? VerulamiumParkRanger

Without forgetting that of Tim Burgess [Typical Music]. I just think there’s a time in an artist’s life when only a double album will do. Paul Weller’s 22 Dreams wouldn’t work as a single album. They work best with lots of concise songs. Flicker has 18 final versions of half-finished ideas dating back to the 90s, which I was able to do in confinement. I hope people appreciate the reasoning and don’t find it too forgiving.

You’ve written many great songs over the past 30 years. Is there one in particular that never got the appreciation you think it deserved? I like 1997 Hurricane #1 B-side smoke rings. VerulamiumParkRanger

Thanks. I have a weird relationship with my own songs in that my favorites tend to be the ones other people like. Vapor Trail was never a UK single, but became popular over time. You take things out and see what comes back and I react a lot to what comes back.

You came to the rescue Oasis (and gay dad) when they lacked crucial players, lent award-winning guitars to Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer, and after the Ride’s Going Blank Again gig in London, I introduced myself to everyone while I was DJing. In your career, who has shown you the most kindness and generosity? david99b

Robert Smith of the Cure. When Ride first started, he used his influence to get us added to the bill for a TV program called Brits 91, so we got this amazing prime time exposure. He’s since asked us to support The Cure, got us on the festival lineup, and he’s done a great remix of Vapor Trail. He was always there to encourage with a very generous spirit.

Apparently Ride was referring to [1994 album] carnival of light like Carnival of Shite. Do you still feel that or have you made peace with it? European by choice

Ride was about loud guitars, overwhelmed harmonies and thrilling percussion – a wash of sound. By Carnival of Light and Tarantula, we had chosen those elements until we ended up with a shoegaze band trying to play classic rock, but I made peace with that. There are a lot of great tracks, like Moonlight Medicine and Birdman.

Tell us a Massacre of Brian Jonestown story. ShermanMLight

Once in Stockholm, I was watching from the side of the stage when Anton [Newcombe] fired the drummer during the concert. I jumped drunk and started playing the drums. He didn’t reject me, which was nice of him. Before their gig in Oxford a few years ago, I mentioned that I had once seen Spacemen 3 play in armchairs. Anton immediately shifted into high gear. “Man, [Ride’s] Mark Gardener is coming to the concert tonight. I’ll get you chairs and we’ll set up the Ride meeting on stage. Mark and I hadn’t spoken in years, and suddenly we were sitting in armchairs for the duration of their concert, asking each other, “How are you?”

Tell us about the infamous match 5 Ride vs Radiohead Stuart Yellow

I’m not a footballer so I wasn’t in our team but we beat them 25-4 or something. You know they could play stadiums all over the world but ours was the real win [laughs].

You do a DJ set but people don’t really feel it. What 12 inches would you do to move the room? stevehiggs

2048 Synthesizer by Monokompatibel with Harald Grosskopf. It’s a good banger at 103bpm. If it’s an indie night, then Here Comes Your Man by Pixies. I don’t mind clearing the floor, because then you can define what happens. Get rid of the crowd and bring them back slowly.

Andy Bell’s new solo EP, The Grounding Processis now available Sonic Cathedral. Reissues of Ride’s classic early albums and EPs are also available on Wichita

If you’re a fan of electronic dance music (EDM), you know beat drops are central to many of the genre’s most popular songs. 1. Tennis Court – Lorde (Flume remix)

3. Gold Love – Flux Pavilion feat. Rosie Oddie

Flux Pavilion is an extremely popular EDM artist who is known for creating songs with massive drops. It’s hard to choose one, but we went with golden love. This song was originally posted on SoundCloud as a single by his highway PE. It was an immediate hit and helped the EP sell well.

4. Easy – Mat Zo & Porter Robinson

Easy is one of the most popular songs by duo Mat Zo and Porter Robinson. This song was released on the legendary Ministry of Sound label, which has released many iconic EDM songs and albums. Easy reached number 28 on the official UK charts, which is an extraordinary achievement for an EDM song.

5. Raise Your Weapon – Deadmau5 (Madeon remix)

Raise your weapon is one of the most iconic house songs of all time. The original was released in 2010 and was an instant hit. However, it does not exhibit a massive bass drop. Many artists have remixed the song and added huge drops, including Madeon. His remix was released in 2011 and quickly became popular for its heavy bass drop.

6. In My Thoughts – Don Diablo

Don Diablo’s In my thoughts it’s a bit of a change of pace. It doesn’t feature the heaviest bass. Instead, it features many melodic rhythm changes. These smaller rhythm drops build slowly as the song gets progressively faster and heavier.

7. Animals – Martin Garrix

Martin Garrix broke through and made a name for himself in the EDM scene at a very young age. In fact, he was only 17 when Animals was released in 2014. The steep bass drop in this song made it hugely popular almost immediately. Garrix’s career took off and he has since released many songs with brutal bass drops.

8. Wake Up – Kayzo & RIOT

Kayzo and RIOT had already made a name for themselves in the EDM scene before deciding to team up. their song Wake up features a brutal drop in rhythm and a catchy melody. This helped make the song popular upon its release. In reality, Wake up garnered around 200,000 plays within 24 hours of its release.

9. Make It Bun Dem – Skrillex & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley

Skrillex seemed to be releasing hit after hit in the early 2010s, and almost all of its songs had brutal bass drops. Make it bun dem, which was released in 2012, has one of the most nasty beat drops in Skrillex’s entire discography. It also has a unique reggae-inspired sound brought to it by Damian Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley. The song’s distinctive sound has been dubbed “rudeboy bass” by Skrillex fans.

10. TSUNAMI – Borgeous & DVBBS

Borgeous and DVBBS reunited in 2013 for a collaboration that quickly became popular in the house scene at the time. They created music in the big room house subgenre, including TSUNAMI. As the name suggests, this song features a rhythm drop that hits listeners with a powerful surge of bass. It was the most played track at the 2013 Tomorrowland festival, which was one of the most important EDM festivals held that year.

11. Don’t Let Me Down – The Chainsmokers (Illenium Remix)

The Chainsmokers are known for releasing EDM-inspired tracks with heavy bass. In fact, many of their songs, including Do not let me down, already have big bass drops. This makes The Chainsmokers songs appealing to EDM artists who are looking for songs to remix. There are a number of remixes of this song, by Illenium being the most popular and has the biggest beat drop.

12. Bass Head – Bassnectar

Bassnectar has been a mainstay of the dubstep scene since the very beginning. He had quite a bit of success, but his most iconic songs were mostly released near the start of his career. His 2010 hit bass head is one of his biggest and first hits.

Bassnectar is aptly named, as his songs almost always feature massive bass with huge drops. Any number of his songs could have made it to this list, but we chose bass head because it was such an important moment in the history of dubstep.

13. Cannonball (Earthquake) – Showtek & Justin Prime feat. Matthew Koma

Dutch artists have been at the forefront of EDM since the 1990s, if not before. Although Dutch artists are known more for their melodic house than their bass-heavy house, this duo goes against that convention.

When Dutch artists Showtek and Justin Prime worked together in 2012, fans held their breath to see what brutal bass they could create. The duo come out Cannonball (earthquake) that year, which featured some of the heaviest bass many fans have ever heard. Matthew Koma also has a memorable feature in this hit song.

14. Raise your hand – Ummet Ozcan

Turkish EDM artist Ummet Ozcan has been around since 2006, although he hasn’t had many massive hits. Raise your hands, like many of Ozcan’s songs, features an immense drop in rhythm. These songs are worth listening to, but Raise your hands is his most iconic song.

This song features a slow build to a single bass drop, rather than the double drop that was popular at the time. This made the song not only very popular among EDM enthusiasts, but also very influential for EDM producers. “Raise Your Hands” is one of many songs on this list released by Spinnin Records.

15. Bangarang – Skrillex feat. Sira

If an artist were to appear on our list more than once, it had to be Skrillex. bangarang is another one of his most popular songs, and it features several huge bass drops. The bass made it a big hit when it was released in 2012. It also features Skrillex’s signature beeps and beeps. Rapper Sirah also has a memorable feature that has certainly contributed to the popularity of this unique song.

16. Power Glove – Knife Party

Knife Party is best known for its iconic Haunted house registration. This album was released in 2013 and remains popular among house lovers to this day. There were a lot of hits on this record, but we chose power glove for our list. The reason is simple: it has the heaviest bass drop of any song on the album.

17. Get Low – Dillon Francis and DJ Snake

Many of the best beat drop songs on this list were created when successful artists decided to collaborate to produce bass-heavy dance songs. Get low is another example of this phenomenon. It was released in 2014 on Mad Decent Records. The lyrics might be a little repetitive, but that’s not the point of the song. It features heavy bass throughout and its multiple bass drops have made it popular in clubs to this day.

18. Opus – Eric Prydz

Eric Prydz has released many popular songs in the progressive house subgenre since his debut in 2015. While he’s certainly released quite a few songs with big drops since then, our favorite is Opus on his first record. This song has been remixed many times with different bass drops, but we still prefer the original.

19. Mammoth – Dimitri Vegas, MOGUAI & Like mike

Skrillex may be the only individual artist to make our list more than once, but Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are the only duo to make our list multiple times. Like Skrillex, they were EDM icons of the early 2010s and released many brutal bass-driven songs during that time.

The first is their song Mammoth, the title of which accurately describes its huge pace drop. This song is still very popular in the big room house subgenre. Unsurprisingly, it has been remixed several times.

20. Tremor – Dimitri Vegas, as Mike and Martin Garrix

Our second inclusion of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike features another fitting title. Tremor has such a huge drop that it could register on the Richter scale. This song is yet another favorite in the great hall subgenre, as are so many of the songs on our list. Tremor was released in 2014 by EDM label Spinnin’ Records.

21. Core – RL Grime

RL Grime is one of the few artists on our list who is not a house or dubstep producer. Instead, RL Grime specializes in the trap. His fan favorite in 2014 Heart has one of the biggest drops of any song in the genre.

RL Grime is known for his remixes, especially remixes with heavy bass drops. However, we prefer his original song Heart for his unique and enormous fall. This song has been remixed many times, but none of the remixes have bass that can beat the original.

A Different Beat, was Moore’s 12th solo album, where he explored new areas of blues and rock. This album has never been released before on vinyl and features new liner notes written by Dave Everley.

This double vinyl version will be pressed on transparent orange vinyl and will include the bonus track “Can’t Help Myself (EZ Rollers Remix)”. A Different Beat will also be released on CD.

Gary Moore rocked the world of blues and rock with his virtuoso guitar playing and soulful voice. Best known for his evocative solo hits, Parisienne Walkways and Still Got the Blues, and his on/off membership in Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore’s solo career spans over twenty albums.

Throughout the 1980s, Gary rose through the ranks of the rock hierarchy, but turned his back on what he saw as the empty lightning bolt of metal and returned to his heart music – the blues – where, ironically , he achieved his greatest commercial success through his blues albums of the 1990s and 2000s.

A Different Beat saw Moore explore a new direction, in this case combining his signature guitar work with contemporary dance beats. Fusing blues and dance music, A Different Beat is the boldest thing Moore has ever done.

Moore is considered one of the most influential Irish musicians of all time. Having been honored by Gibson and Fender with signature guitars, the Northern Irish star is still considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning has his own “Eli’s Extras” show on the official New York Giants YouTube channel. Manning is joined by his former center Shaun O’Hara as they conduct interviews and go on adventures in each episode.

On the most recent episode of Eli’s Extras, Manning and O’Hara visited rapper Fivio Foreign. Upon arrival, they are told they are not dressed appropriately to enter Fivio Foreign’s studio and are given new threads. Once they meet Fivio Foreign, the rapper also gives them chains to wear.

youtube cover

In their new clothes, he and O’Hara received advice from Fivio Foreign on how to rap. They then created the “1 on 3 NY Giants Remix”.

When the video was released on YouTube and then on the official New York Giants Twitter page, many fans were shocked by what they saw. There were a lot of jokes about their outfits as well as their rapping abilities.

NFL fans were also quick to mention that it was the same person who beat Tom Brady in two Super Bowls. Others praised the quarterback for his ability to try anything. Here are some of the comments:

@Giants He’s my quarterback 🥲

@Giants The way Eli said “Hip HopERS” makes me cry.

@Giants On the verge of being the first football player in the NFL and the Hip Hop Hall of Fame

Could Eli Manning be the next athlete to invest in Major League Pickleball?

The Manning brothers are competitive to say the least. Whether it’s on the football pitch or doing something for one of their many entertainment venues. In a recent interview with People Magazine, Eli Manning said he and Peyton Manning are extremely competitive when it comes to playing pickleball.

He said he thought he was better than his older brother but, as competitive as he was, neither had suffered an injury yet.

In an interview with People, Eli Manning was asked if he would be the next top athlete to invest in Major League Pickleball. He said it wasn’t something he had thought of. Stating that right now he just enjoys playing the game for fun and social reasons:

“I haven’t reviewed the ownership part of it. I just like playing it and the social aspect of it.”

youtube cover

Several athletes have already invested in the league. These include seven-time Super Bowl winner quarterback Tom Brady, NBA champion LeBron James and Super Bowl champion Drew Brees, among others.

Although Eli Manning has said he is not interested in investing at this time, that could change at any time, especially if the hype and popularity of the sport continues to grow nationwide.

Novation’s Circuit Rhythm is back, and it suddenly makes a whole lot more sense. Effects are tweakable, you can create scenes, you can sample over time (with fixed duration recording), and in a first for samplers, there’s explicit functionality to let you beat the game.

Novation has muddied the waters a bit on Circuit with the second-gen hardware. For the first time, you had to choose – Circuit Tracks, which mixed polyphonic synth tracks, and Circuit Rhythm, which could record samples. They were otherwise quite similar. I think for a lot of people the Rhythm won, although you could be forgiven for wondering why it wasn’t called Circuit Sampler.

Well, now we have a Circuit Sampler that really pulls the picture together. While there are other devices that can sample in this price range, it also seems, well, more Circuit-y. Firmware version 2.0:

beat the game. Speed up or slow down samples for beat matching. Yes, you can do it with other samplers, but with a bit more work – and not with this Novation Circuit grid. (Actually, come to think of it, this really isn’t directly possible in some grid-based software, which everyone noticed in the early 2000s when they added a crossfader. But I digress .)

It is important. On the one hand, this means you can add Circuit Rhythm as an extra deck to spice up a DJ set. And that’s a good thing, especially because everyone is a DJ now.

On the other hand, it’s just as useful to pull off these kinds of DJ-style moves when you’re doing a remix or even an original production.

And there’s more…

Fixed duration recording. It’s funny that it wasn’t in firmware 1.0, but now in Sample Record you can choose fixed length recordings of 8, 16, 32 or 64 steps. It also makes perfect sense in a grid-based device like this.

Scenes. Store patterns and muted track states in Scenes. There are no dummy clips – uh, sorry, dummy patterns necessary to remove it. (Yeah, uh, sorry, I was still thinking about that DAW grid.)

This is welcome in part because it allows you to quickly create arrangements on the fly, ideally escaping the endless death spiral of starting but never ending tunes. I heard. From a friend. On this subject.

Editable grid effects. This unlocks all parameters for all those Grid FX so you can tweak them to your liking – and recall them in the performance, of course.

If my sarcastic explanations didn’t make sense, Novation also has some how-to videos to watch.

And yes, if you expected them to go the DAW-free spot, they did. As they have for a few years, however, they are once again selecting some terrific artists – here, Trishes.

Plus, here’s the full announcement stream in all its glory:

And, like, chill lofi beats.

As always, a free update, available through your browser in Circuit Components.

The highly stoppable Pittsburgh Penguins (2-6-2 in their last ten games) collided with the highly mobile Washington Capitals object ($40 million in injuries) on Wednesday night. One was much better than the other, and their goalie wasn’t leaking.

After a scoreless spell, Jason Zucker got lucky when Darcy Kuemper threw in his occasional shot. Brock McGinn’s shorthanded goal made it 2-0, and Jeff Petry’s shot from the blue line made it 3-0.

Marcus Johansson caught a pass under the goal line from Sonny Milano to give Washington their only goal of the night. Pittsburgh got the empty net.

Caps lose.

  • I really liked Washington’s first two shifts. Pittsburgh fed them turnovers and they buzzed into the net early. The rest of Washington’s good play happened as he chased the lead.
  • Sidney Crosby likes to take on Martin Fehervary. Crosby maybe got away with some penalties there.
  • Darcy Kuemper had a very bad night. He threw one, he got trapped in another, and he didn’t follow a third. It’s fun and easy to characterize which lenses are “bad” or “soft”, which is why I do it, but it’s also lazy, which is also why I do it. Conclusion: Kuemper allowed three goals in two periods. The line just above that baseline: The Caps have allowed Pittsburgh to generate 2.53 expected goals in the same span. (At the end of the game, Kuemper was only about 0.15 below expectations.) Either way, the team was going to lose this game with nothing less than superhuman goalkeeping performance. , and DK didn’t come close.
  • The Caps kept Kuemper in net for the third. I think it was a wise choice. This match was lost long before its fold.
  • Here’s the part of the recap where we hang out on the national show. Cloth this is also called when your vertical margins look jagged and bad. Some of the numbers have two digits, some have three, one is in thousands of dollars but the others are in millions. They are all center aligned, so they start and end at different horizontal locations. Whoever created this graphic hates you. You, precisely. I’m more upset with this graph than the hockey game. please look my suggested changes and come back with questions about the deliverable before COB.
  • Peter Laviolette has tried Alex Ovechkin on some shifts with Strome and Milano. Interesting idea, although it was very unsuccessful. sonny milano got that great pass to Marcus in the third, so don’t feel too bad for him. I don’t think he’s going back to Hershey.
  • The Penguins lost three defenders to injury, at least for a minute. Jan Rutta was injured because of (or shortly after) that big free-kick from Alex Ovechkin. Pierre-Olivier Joseph got injured at a time I hadn’t noticed, and Jeff Petry looked clumsy in third but stayed in the game.

A blistering loss to a struggling division rival, but I’m not going to make any big claims. I’ll just press the sign.

I just hope they don’t stray from the playoffs. Two games against Tampa will tell us more.

Absolute showcase of superstar talent: Capitals beat Oilers 5-4 https://wmgd.net/absolute-showcase-of-superstar-talent-capitals-beat-oilers-5-4/ Tue, 08 Nov 2022 03:56:15 +0000 https://wmgd.net/absolute-showcase-of-superstar-talent-capitals-beat-oilers-5-4/ The Edmonton Oilers were in town and it’s always special because it means Connor McDavid and Alex Ovechkin share the same ice. The Edmonton Oilers were in town and it’s always special because it means Connor McDavid and Alex Ovechkin share the same ice. The two generational talents battling it out won’t be something we see much more of, so enjoy it.

It was neither of the superstars who started the scoring on Monday night as Dylan Strome ripped off Warren Foegele and scored the first scorer late in the first. The second featured five goals in total from both teams and they came from Strome, McDavid, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ovechkin.

Leon Draisaitl again cut the Caps lead to one early in the third. Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nugent-Hopkins hit back-to-back very late.

The Capitals beat the Oilers 5-4!

  • The first half went much better than I expected with the incredibly injured Caps taking on Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and co. The defensive effort was unified and Charlie Lindgren was very solid. They even created more high-risk 5-on-5 chances than in Edmonton. Good start.
  • Guess who got to wear a letter on their shirt with Dmitry Orlov out of training? Trevor Van Riemsdyk! My boy TVR has been really good in the increased role he’s been forced into with all the injuries. I hope this streak lets the coaching staff know they can rely on him for more than just third pair minutes and the responsibility of giving penalties.
  • The crossbar has been very mean to the Caps the last two games. Nick Ritchie first got a great rebound to help the Coyotes defeat the Caps on Saturday and in the first period he denied sonny milano his first goal at DC. Fortunately, Dylan Strom was able to avoid the cursed metal and put the puck on the back bar instead for first base.
  • The second period was even better than the first for the Caps. They pressed hard and played a ton of time in the offensive zone, which led to the Oilers taking a whole bunch of penalties. The power play scored four times in the game and now has seven goals in its last five games.
  • Alex Ovechkin got on the board with his 788th career goal and his sixth in his last games this season. Oilers rookie goaltender Stuart Skinner showed Ovi some pre-game love and spoke of being thrilled to face his legendary shot. Well, he did and became the 163rd different goalie Ovi has scored on in his career.
  • Connor McDavid is an alien who literally plays hockey. The second he got to the top of the circle with that four-on-four puck, I knew it was marked for the back of the net. Congratulations to him on his 500th career game.
  • I think I’ve said it four or five times this season, but a big thank you to the Chicago Blackhawks for letting the Caps have both. Dylan Strom and Erik Gustafsson free. Three-point night for the two guys the Caps should probably be in overtime talks with yesterday. I never thought I would be so impressed with Gustafsson, but here we are. He must never leave the first unit in the power set again. Sorry, John.
  • Worse in the third, but I had a feeling the Oilers were going to have McDavid and Draisaitl on the ice pretty much every other shift.
  • Alex Ovechkin. That’s it. It’s the ball. Also, Yevgeny Kuznetsov scored his first two goals of the season. But also Alex Ovechkin.
  • They scored a handful but they do it against everyone and Charlie Lindgren came on huge several times in the third period to keep his team in the game. What a breath of fresh air goalkeepers have been overall this season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins come to town on Wednesday as the Caps resume action in the Metropolitan Division. The Pens have lost seven straight, so they will be desperate to win against their rivals.
