BTS ‘MIC Drop’ remix clip reaches 1 billion YouTube views – Manila bulletin
K-pop idol group BTS added another feat when their music video “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)” garnered a billion views on YouTube.
“MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)” hit the milestone on July 26, three years and eight months after the clip went live on November 24, 2017.
This is the fourth BTS clip on YouTube to garner a billion views after “DNA”, “Boy With Luv” starring Halsey and “Dynamite”.
“DNA,” released on September 18, 2017, hit the billion mark on June 1, 2020, or after two years and eight months, making BTS the first K-pop boy group to have a music video with a billion views.
“Boy With Luv” followed suit on October 24, 2020, 18 months after it was uploaded to YouTube on April 12, 2019.
“Dynamite” garnered a billion views on April 12 of this year, nearly eight months since its YouTube release on August 21, 2020.
Currently, BTS has five music videos from YouTube’s 10 most watched MVs in the first 24 hours of its release.
Their latest music video “Permission to Dance”, released on July 9, garnered 72.3 million views in its debut.
