Our World needs Peace, wants Peace but Peace remains elusive

In this presentation an effort is being made towards understanding the intricate relationship between religious roots and the concept of peace.
Globalization has brought us face to face with the infinite variety of human existence. The USA has become far more mixed than before. There are distinctions being made between minorities and visible minorities. Some talk of a clash of civilizations. Many other nations and India in particular has a long tradition of handling multi –cultural and religious issues.
The paper will explore how the various religious traditions impact the ability to bring harmony or accentuate the differences; thus making things livable or causing clashes. The need for a minimum global value system will be presented for furthering the cause of world unity and peace.
