FORM B: PROPOSAL FOR PRESENTATION/ WORKSHOP

David Korton, author of The Great Turning, said:
We humans live by stories. The key to making a choice for Earth Community is recognizing that the foundation of Empire’s power does not lie in its instruments of physical violence. It lies in Empire’s ability to control the stories by which we define ourselves and our possibilities…. To change the human future, we must change our defining stories.”
How can we produce new stories that will take off like an idea virus and inject into the popular culture a new way of thinking -- as world citizens – at one with nature and humanity?
How can these new stories help free us from knocking our heads against the dysfunctional political systems of old, that plunge our world into chaos, and instead directly evolve new systems that can actually implement humanity’s demands for peace, freedom, security and a healthy planet?
At this Global Symposium, I will present the World Première of our short 4 minute film: One! The Garry Davis Story. I will also show some additional video clips that are part of our effort to evolve a new story for humanity.

Workshop Title: Evolving Earth Operating System 1.0

For the first time ever, One Films will reveal to the public our innovative plan for global transformation.  First we will create public awareness through a series of major movies, starting with the Garry Davis story.  Then we will work with both the existing e-parliament pioneers and with leading technology companies to create Earth Operating System 1.0, an e-Congress Web Portal designed to enable the citizens of the world to collaborate on solving the world’s major problems, directly engaging in the process of governing our planet:  making proposals, debating, honing and voting on proposed solutions, imbuing them with the authority of the sovereign will of the people, then working together to implement them in local communities around the world.  The portal will be the local entry point to a world of opportunities to energize global civil society.  Employing new tools, the citizens of the world will be able to work together in an open-source process for governing our world, evolving a virtual operating system for our planet that can insure its survival:

1)      A virtual parliament where world citizens can propose, refine and pass legislative programs to tackle the challenges threatening our planet,

2)      A participatory and innovative court system to protect the rights of all.

3)      A virtual administration to implement the programs through NGOs, social entrepreneurs, civil society groups, international agencies, concerned citizens and those local or national governments who choose to enroll.

Innovative new tools will be evolved to bring out the best of the collective wisdom of humanity – avoiding not only the tyranny endemic to existing governments, but also avoiding the tyranny of the majority and protecting the rights of all human beings around the world.

PLEASE JOIN US IN AN INTERACTIVE PROCESS OF BUILDING THIS FUTURE TOGETHER.
