My name is Otfried Schrot. I am a retired German
officer. My speech does not reflect the official opinion
of the Government of Germany, but is my personal
standpoint. The purpose of this speech is to convince
Israel of the necessity of changing
its politics on behalf of its survival and on behalf of
World Peace. Therefore it is my hope that this speech
will leave this room and arrive not only in the cabinet
of Israel but also in the hearts of all Jewish citizens.

I am a
German, coming from the country of the Holocaust .
Nation of Israel, I havecome to India to give two
speeches on behalf of your survival. In consideration of
your present political situation , driving in an ocean
of hostilities and animosities , in particular encircled
by hostile neighbours, I want to throw this speech as a
life belt to you. Please do not call me arrogant for
this sentence, because sometimes it is easier to
recognize problems and their solutions from a
distant than from a near by standpoint. Therefore I ask
you to listen to me patiently even then when I will say
a few unfriendly words. Please keep expressions of your
anger for yourselves until I have finished.
I have divided my
brief speech in three sections
1. The look into the
“Mirror of the Truth”
2. The dark perspective
3. The bright perspective
4. The vision
1.
The look into the “Mirror of the Truth” The first
step away from your path to your fall to the path to
your survival is a walk through the valley of self
– criticism to the “Mirror of the Truth” at the oracle
of Delphi in Greece the motto of which is “Perceive
yourself !” Standing in front of the “Mirror of the
Truth” answer the following questions to yourselves,
people of Israel:
1.1.
Do you want that the next 60 years of the history of
your state will look like the past 60 years of your
history ?
1.2.
If you do not want it, do you think that you then should
go ahead with the same political and military methods
that you have applied in the past 60 years or would it
not be wise to try something new ?
1.3.
Do you consider the Arabs as people of equal value ?
1.4.
Do you believe that your mode of sharing water and
land with the Palestinians is a contribution to
Peace in the Near East ?
1.5.
Have you ever taken into consideration that in
fighting the Hisbollah and the Hamas with your military
fire brigades you have permanently been fighting
the smoke and that you have permanently forgotten to
fight the fire ?
1.6.
Are you unwilling or unable to recognize that the spiral
of hatred, revenge and retaliation in the Near East has
started with the expulsion of the Palestinians
and that you have to start with the solution of your
problem from there if you want to have Peace in the Near
East ?
1.7.
Do you believe that your repeated and ongoing
refusals
a) to pay an indemnity to
the Palestinian refugees for 25 000 confiscated
buildings and three million acres of confiscated land in
1948
b) to allow four millions of
Palestinian refugees to come home
c) to accept the UN –
resolutions passed on behalf of the Palestinians have
nothing to do with the rise of global terrorism ?
1.8.
Do you believe that your habit of applying self –
justice instead of going to a Court is a
contribution to the creation of World Peace ?
1.9. Do you believe that
you will survive in the Near East without friendly
neighbours in the next 500 years ?
2.
The dark perspective
Nation of Israel, you will be unable to prevent over an
unlimited period of time that your enemies,
driven by their hatred, will get atomic bombs. A
nuclear war will make your small country uninhabitable
and the few people who will survive will be sick from a
too high doseage of nuclear radiation, will have to
emigrate again and die lonely in a strange country. This
will then be the end Israel.
3.
The bright perspective
I propose to you to buy a life insurance from World
History by taking the following actions :
3.1.
Make a 180 – degree – turn of your politics on behalf of
your survival and stop producing Arab dictators around
you by what you are doing !
3.2.
Stop looking at your own politics with self-complacency,
start looking at it with self – critique.
3.3.
End the era of self – justice , begin a new era of
civilized behaviour by going to the International Court
in The Hague!
3.4.
Stop following the bad example of the President of the
USA, George W. Bush, who sees no problems in ignoring
International Law, bypassing the International Court,
attacking a country without a reason for war and
without a declaration of war – unless you consider
the never ending greed for crude oil as a justifiable
war reason !
3.5.
Stop producing the collateral damage of killing hundreds
of innocent women and children when you pursue your
military goals!
3.6.
Stop treating International Law, International
treaties and armistice agreements like plasticine which
you knead according to your arbitrariness and start
respecting International Law and Human
Rights! Start a new era of political behaviour by
becoming charming and friendly to your neighbours and to
the civilized world. Not only you, Nation of Israel,
have rights on this world but all other nations
too, for example the Palestinians.
3.7.
Repair the injustice of having deprived a nation of its
Human Right to live in its home country for 60 years and
invite the Palestinian refugees to return to Israel in a
smooth, phased, prioritized, carefully planned ,
thoroughly organized and masterfully implemented return
between
1 January 2007 and Yom Kippur 2022. You will
realize the project of repatriation in close cooperation
with your Arab neighbours. You will allocate Jewish
sponsor families to the returning Palestinian
families
who will help them to get integrated into the Society of
Israel and to become friendly citizens of
Israel. The USA having spent the money for three gulf
wars will be more than happy to finance the whole
repatriation project thus saving the money for the
Fourth Gulf War.
3.8.
You will transform the State of Israel into the “United
Republic of Israelis and Palestinians” with a new
constitution guaranteeing equal rights to Jewish and
Palestinians. You will prepare this constitution
between 1 January 2007 and Yom Kippur Day 2022.
4.
The vision
4.1.
You will hold on Yom Kippur Day 2022 , after
the return of all Palestinians from the refugee camps,
an official reconciliation ceremony at the shore of the
Jordan with a Jewish and a Palestinian delegation in the
presence of the media of the world.You will modify your
customary religious ceremonies of that day
to make the unique celebration with The
Palestinians possible.
4.2.
The transformed “United Republic of Israelis and
Palestinians” will join the “Arab League” on the day
after Yom Kippur Day 2022 which will on that day change
its name from “Arab League” to “Semitic League”.
4.3.
Then, Israel, you will , for the first time, have only
friendly neighbours !
Government of Israel, I suggest you declare to
the World latest on 31 December 2006 that you
accept my proposal to repatriate the Palestinians
between 2007 and 2022. Prove by this gesture that you
are not only citizens of Israel, but also citizens of
the world ! I am convinced that solely your overdue
declaration will immediately release the over- pressure
from the Near East tire and thus stabilize your
position in the Near East ! It will, furthermore,
be a contribution to World Peace!
I express my conviction that you will find your path
back to your great King Salomo and , equipped with his
wisdom, will establish brilliant relations to your Arab
neigbours . I finish my “Message to Israel” with the
words:
Nation of Israel, the
more Justice you practise, the fewer tanks you
will need !
