Ms Asha Sharmila
Ramgobin is a representative of Human Rights Development
Initiative in South Africa. In the year 2001 she started All
Africa Clinical Legal Education Colloquium, the first of
which was hosted in Durban in 2003 and the second in Abuja,
2005. She obtained Master’s Degree in International Human
Rights Law. She established Human Rights Development
Initiative, which looks after domestic law clinics in
Africa. She is a committed practitioner of Mahayana Buddhism
and meditates daily. Her religious practices are useful in
her human rights work. |
