Human Rights Message

Though the world civilization has made tremendous progress today than at any time in human history, yet violation of human rights remains a great challenge. Poverty, inequality, injustice and insecurity are a global challenge for establishing human rights. Strengthening the voice of poor people to fight against these anomalies is the need of the time. ASD has adopted a ‘rights-based approach’ in its development programmes focusing on capacity building of the right-less people to claim their rights and assert their freedoms. Now it is high time to concentrate all our energies and passion on supporting poor and excluded people to organise them so that they can claim their rights and build a more just society – focusing specifically on increasing the power of women and girls to claim equal rights. We would expect governments and institutions would be responsive and proactive to the needs of people living with poverty and injustice.
